A private boarding school fined £50,000 after exposing two employees, five pupils, and two other children to high levels of radioactive radon gas.

Landowner fined after public attacked by cows

A landowner has been fined after public attacked by cows which resulted in serious injuries.  A fine of £15,000 was imposed after members of the public were seriously injured by cattle while walking along footpaths on the landowner’s estate.

Directors jailed after five men died

Two company directors jailed after five men died after a wall collapsed. The directors ran a Birmingham metal recycling business where a wall toppled over.

An employee died while loading lorry at a landscaping company which resulted in the company being fined following a prosecution brought by the Health and Safety Executive. An East Yorkshire garden landscaping supply company has been fined £600,000 after an employee died while loading a lorry.

A corporate manslaughter prosecution by Dorset Police has resulted in convictions for a waste management company and its director.

A waste and recycling company has been sentenced for corporate manslaughter and other health and safety offences following the death of a man at a site in Poole. A company director has also been sentenced in connection with the incident.

Council fined after death of girl hit by falling tree. A council has been fined £280,000 after the death of a six-year-old girl who was hit by a falling tree in her school playground.

Firefighter injured in exercise

Firefighter injured in exercise suffered multiple fractures.  A fire authority has been fined after a firefighter was trapped underneath a car in a training exercise, breaking his legs in more than a dozen places.
The firefighter was setting up a simulated road traffic collision with colleagues at Stockton Fire Station, South Road, Stockton on Tees on 19 October 2020 when the incident happened.

Crush injuries prosecution

Crush injuries result in prosecution for a demolition company and its director.  A demolition firm has been fined and one of its directors ordered to do 250 hours of unpaid work after a 20-year-old worker was crushed.
